Obese patient safety: Is it possible to predict the risks at all stages of medical care?

Obese patients represent a special group of increased risk of adverse events at all stages of medical care. With obesity the postvaccination immunity and the effectiveness of reproductive technologies decrease, the risk of morbidity and severe course of infectious diseases, side effects of drugs, complications during anesthetic and surgical procedures increase. Creation the systematic approach to the safety of an obese patient will allow anticipating and reducing the likelihood of possible adverse events.
