2021

this article discusses the causes and consequences of animal-vehicle crashes (further-AVCs) in the Russian Federation. The main goal of the study is to locate the most dangerous areas for vehicles in terms of the frequency of meeting animals there. The research focuses on identifying a map with up-to-date information of possible wild life habitants' locations to prevent collisions. In order to complete such a map there are two fields of research: analysis of internet data that collects messages and posts of already happened AVCs and analysis of migrations and animals' behavior during different season and other conditions. All of the analyzed information is projected onto the map, which is published on a website in order to spread the awareness about the problem and reduce the number of collisions.
