The article justifies the demand for automation of technological processes at industrial enterprises of Russia: 77% of large, 42% of small and medium-sized enterprises are ready for the transition to cloud technologies; 34% of companies plan to increase their IT budgets. The preferences of industrial companies in the field of digitalization in the conditions of COVID-19 were revealed: video surveillance and data processing systems; predictive analytics; mobile M R (maintenance and repair) and diagnostic systems; virtual DPCs (data-processing centers) and systems of data storage, hybrid clouds, technologies of digital doubles of the equipment. These technologies need a full range of cloud services, from IaaS and PaaS to SaaS products, such as industrial applications for industrial personnel. The priorities of digitalization of industrial production 2020 are presented: the transition from many local IT solutions to single platforms and standards, the transfer of infrastructure to clouds, which will help not only to quickly respond to crisis situations, but also to predict them, which will ultimately lead to a reduction in financial losses, increased efficiency and business competitiveness. Opportunities and constraints for smart capacity-building and its strategic use for industrial development have been identified.
