The article is dedicated to the analysis of the political consequences in Italy caused by 2020 Covid-19. The unexpected and hard pandemic has led not only to life losses, but has sent the impulse to the transformation of the Italian politics. An analysis of G. Conte government's actions is given. The effects of the pandemic in EU-Italy relations and Rome's foreign policy are analyzed. At the national level the main political outcome was the strengthening of confidence in prime minister G. Conte. Ultimately, this resulted in Conte's decision to create his own party. The fragmentation of political forces is increasing, parties are becoming more personified. This does not contribute to the stability of the political system. Today, the non-partisan Conte remains the country's most popular politician, while the most popular party is the League led by Salvini. The question of the stability of Conte's cabinet remains open, primarily due to the heterogeneity of the coalition. This will entail attempts to reform the country's Constitution to make the system more manageable. The main lesson for Italian foreign policy is the strengthening of the multivector policy, building bridges with other centers of power, not only with traditional Western partners, but also with Russia and China.
