2020

The global pandemic engulfed the world in mid-March 2020, and today the world economy is experiencing a significant negative impact of this colossal disaster. Cases originating in China have spread rapidly around the world, prompting governments around the world to take strict measures to detect cases and limit the rate of transmission of the virus. However, these measures destroyed the main pillars of the modern world economy, as global trade and cooperation gave way to nationalist orientation and competition for scarce supplies. In this regard, it seems appropriate to conduct a critical review of the impact of the pandemic on the economy. It is necessary to rethink the current model of global economic growth, formed by the linear economy system and supported by speculation and energy consumption by production processes, in favor of a more sustainable model for the development of the world economy.
