The article analyzes and describes the basic concepts associated with the organization of open education: open education (OE), open educational re-sources (OER), Massive open online courses (MOOC). The experience of organ-izing the study of history and methods of using open educational resources in the professional and pedagogical training of future Mathematics teachers is de-scribed. It also analyzes some of the open education platforms offered by Russian universities. The methodological possibilities of using the resources of open ed-ucation as an object of study for obtaining professionally significant information in the professional and pedagogical training of future Mathematics teachers are illustrated. © 2021 CEUR-WS.
